Autism Awareness Celebrating My Son Keron M. Perry Jr & The Beauty Of Being Different

Understanding Autism

Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), affects how a person communicates, interacts, and experiences the world. It is a spectrum, meaning every individual is different. Some children may speak a lot; others may not speak at all. Some may enjoy social interaction, while others prefer quiet spaces, and that's okay because different is not wrong, it's just different.

Meet Keron

April is Autism Awareness Month a time to learn, grow, and support individuals on the autism spectrum. But for me, this isn't just something I recognize once a year. Autism awareness is personal. It's part of my everyday life, my heart and my purpose because of my incredible 9-year-old son, Keron aka King KJ.

Keron is more than a diagnosis he is very smart, bright, unique, strong, and full of life. He sees the world in his own beautiful way, and through him, I've learned lessons that no book could ever teach. Keron reminds me daily that love doesn't always need words, strength comes in many forms, and progress-no matter how small-is powerful. Being his parent has opened my eyes to patience, unconditional love, and the importance of truly understanding others.

From Awareness To Acceptance

Awareness is important, but acceptance is what truly changes lives. Acceptance means seeing children like my son for who they are, not just their diagnosis, being patient when things look different, including, not excluding, and choosing kindness over judgment. My son doesn't need to be "fixed" Keron needs to be understood, supported, and celebrated.

How You Can Make A Difference

Supporting children with Autism I want everyone to know there is no "one look" or "one story" of Autism every journey is unique, be kind, and patient, teach your children about inclusion, support families who may be navigating Autism, and speak up for acceptance in your community and anywhere else. Sometimes the smallest act of understanding can mean everything.

A Message From A Parent

As a parent, I want the world to see my son the way I do not as limited, but as limitless. Keron is not defined by Autism he is defined by his strength, his spirit, and the love he brings into this world. Autism Awareness Month is important but for families like mine, this is every day, every moment, every step forward.

Let's Move Beyond Awareness. Let's Choose Acceptance. Let's Celebrate Children Like My Son Keron Because They Are Not Just Different. They Are Extraordinary.
